SUPRISE!! 

A couple days already into Velox Fabula, I was awake at midnight and came up with a whole new gothic story and made it gay, and since that moment I have been an infinitely charged battery, working on this game almost non-stop until it was finished. 

I started the project with the story in my head, made a new google doc, and got started on the outline. At some point I made a quick sketch of what the characters will look like, then I needed to name them. It was hard to come up their names, but I happen to have a little book full of short stories and poems by edgar allan poe, and I started looking for a story that was about crows, and stumbled onto the poem The Raven.  I immediately skimmed through it, yoinked some names to get Lenore and Nevermore, and the story of Feathers and All loosely became inspired by the sad and lonely raven in the poem.  I wrote a schedule for myself on what I should work on for the game, that got quickly thrown out the window and I just kind of chipped away at everything at the same time.

I tried doing a lot of experimenting for this game! I tried out new ways to make choices matter, something I plan on bringing to my other game Dicentra, and I felt like a mad scientist tearing out a bunch of code to make my screens as bare min as I could manage. GUI had me fighting for my life as always, BUT! This was a very good learning experience for me and working on Dicentra has made me feel a lot more comfortable working with renpy. 

This week has been an absolute blur. Making a game solo in a short period of time was absolutely insane and next time I decide to do this, someone please put me in a straight jacket.
